Terra-Petra has been in the environmental engineering industry for over 20 years, with many successful projects to lean on.  The company started its operations focusing on the Los Angeles market to address the local "methane concerns" that quickly became a big issue. Our in-house experts were a big part of the team that developed the local Los Angeles Methane Code.

Our expertise has always been geared towards providing solutions for methane related issues including soil gas investigations to determine level of risk, recommending a mitigation strategy, and designing the right mitigation system to fit the client's needs along with the necessary inspections to ensure compliance and system integrity.  Over the last ten years in particular, Terra-Petra has become to be recognized as the leading expert in methane and soil gas arena.  As methane experts, we've also become experts at below grade waterproofing and drainage having launched our sister-company Building Waterproofing Experts in 2010.    

Terra-Petra possess more than 80 years of collective experience in the environmental and soil gas mitigation fields. Our staff includes a Construction Manager, Civil Engineer, Registered Environmental Assessor, and a Registered Geologist/Certified Engineering Geologist. This experience gives Terra-Petra the ability to find compromise solutions for any environmental concern that may arise.

Over the years, we have continued to grow operations with expanded core competencies. We believe in taking on new capabilities to meet our client's total demands whenever possible. Terra-Petra works with a "safety first" mindset---we enter into every project with that philosophy.  All employees in the field have undergone an extensive safety training program, which includes a 40 hour Hazardous Waste Emergency Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training. We work with zero injuries in the field.
